We often forget that we are nature. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say we’ve lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection to ourselves.

1, 2 or 3 Day Immersion in Nature
Disconnect to reconnect to your most powerful, creative thinking.

More and more of our clients are choosing to step out of the conference room and into nature to do some or all of their purpose and strategy exploration. As part of the purpose discovery process we offer 1, 2 or 3 day immersions in nature with a herd of horses.

Why Nature?

The digital age has accelerated our lives drastically. Our 24/7 connection to technology means we’re always on, even when we’re not at work. Phones, laptops and tablets are attention-demanding, causing us to constantly jump between tasks, which trains our brains to be low in attention and focus. Add to that, the fact that we now spend less time in nature than ever. This combined reality is proving to have a negative effect on our physical well being as well as our cognitive ability to problem solve and be creative.

Science has now proven that time spent immersed in nature, and the corresponding disconnection from technology, increases performance on a creativity, problem-solving task by a full 50%.

When we unplug, give ourselves a digital detox and immerse in natural beauty, we slow down and get still inside. Something extraordinary happens. We begin to connect with a deeper wisdom. This is not the reactive thinking of our daily existence, it’s slow thinking, or more like internal sensing and knowing. This is where your authentic purpose lives. It’s where innovation happens.

Why Horses?

Spending time with horses in nature is even more beneficial to our process.

Horses help people make the connection between the heart and the brain. They facilitate a connection to our inner world and our environment and it's well-being, thereby stimulating our emotional and spiritual intelligence.

Because they’re prey animals they are continually connected to their environment and tuned in to any emotional or physical disturbances. They help us become more present and deepen our self-awareness and inter-connectedness, much like the horses themselves.

The prey instinct means horses are always seeking leadership and social order from other horses and humans too, in order to feel safe. When we interact with them one-on-one they mirror our unconscious behavior and offer biofeedback in response to what is occurring in our inner world. This provides a rich learning environment, one full of relational problem solving that allows people to learn emotional sensitivity, self and social awareness, self-management and effective communication skills and strategies.

Witnessing the societal structure of a free-roaming herd provides a living example of healthy organizational dynamics. This is a great way to experience transformational learning about systemic issues that may be inhibiting growth within your company. These challenges to growth often become apparent during our sessions and the horses provide immediate feedback and experiential learning for clients.

Let us guide you and your team through an extraordinary experience with a majestic herd of free-roaming horses in the breathtaking beauty of Sonoma Valley, the heart of the Wine Country.

There’s something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.
